I'm a freelance writer working in several fields. However, no matter what the topic or genre, I see my writing as blending several qualities:
Service, Clarity, and Function: Good writing is as clear as I can make it. It serves its purpose. It puts tools in the readers' hands, and does what the client needs it to do. Good writing helps people; good writing builds community through enhancing communication and building shared ground.
Joyous Creation: Whether I'm writing my own poems about supernovas and robots, a children's book about cats that take orders, or interviewing business owners on how they serve their customers, I realish the act and experience of creation. I love to share that joy with others, and to capture that sense of wonder.
Exploration and Synthesis: The overwhelming majority of my writing explores new concepts, complex theories, or describes new events, experiences, or locations. I then work to connect it to existing values, and to help people find value in these explorations.
